The Stanford history Education Group (SHEG) has developed a Civic Online Reasoning (COR) curriculum. COR provides free lessons and assessments that help teach students to evaluate online information that affects them, their communities, and the world. With the development of the internet and an abundance of easily accessible information, many people thought misinformation would naturally go extinct through a digital kind of Darwinism. That was before the proliferation of misinformation, alternative facts, emotionally selective algorithms, and understanding the powerful human inclination to be mesmerized by the unexpected. This is why digital literacy is the most important goal to be achieved by students and citizens if we are to be able to live safe and comfortable lives.
